Bruce Priest
Elder
I am married to Annalee and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. I enjoy
sports especially UK sports.
I came to Catalyst through a friend’s invitation. I found Catalyst to be a
warm and welcoming church with a servant’s heart. I have been attending
Catalyst for 12 years.
Besides being an elder I also serve on a scrubs team and in the children’s
ministry.
My favorite verse us Philippians 4:11 “Not that I am speaking of being in
need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.”
CONNECTIONS
Greg Myers
Connection's Director
Greg was born and raised right here on the west side of Evansville. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1981. He went on to graduate from Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Recreation and M.A.E. in Counseling.
He worked in Higher Education for 10 years before leaving to serve as a missionary (Germany) for 5 years and then a Children’s Ministry Director for 8. He has also held counseling positions partnering with families through Child Protective Services as well as serving individuals with disabilities. He loves any and all types of sports and music.
Greg visited Catalyst for the first time about 3 years ago and has never left. He is now the Connections Coordinator and Associate Pastor. His passion is to share the good news of Jesus while serving and caring for people. You’ll find him on Thursdays serving at the Catalyst Food Pantry.
Julie Shoptaugh
Group Coordinator
I am 67 years old and retired in September 2019 just before the pandemic. I am married to Jim Shoptaugh and we have two grown children. I love having a vegetable garden in the summer and love old movies from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.
Several years ago Jim and I were looking for a church closer to home and saw some signs about CATALYST. Then one Sunday morning there was an article in the newspaper about CATALYST and Pastor Dave. I was familiar with the college that Pastor Dave and his wife Rachel graduated from so I felt very comfortable giving CATALYST a try. It is a very diverse group of worshipers. I have been attending now for seven years and love it!
I enjoy the preaching as well as the Bible studies that have been offered. Even at my age I have learned things that I did not know in the past. More importantly, I have been taught how to study and read my Bible!
Marilyn Gregory
Connection's Coordinator
I was married to Gary for 30 years until his death in 2003. I have one daughter, Brooke (Ben), a granddaughter, Morgan, two grandsons, Bryson & Bracken and a son, Jake. I was born and raised on the Westside and attended Reitz High School.
I visited Catalyst around 2013 after being invited by friends. I was immediately drawn to the uncomplicated, faith lead, Christ centered purpose of Catalyst. That, along with the community centered outreach that is at the heart of Catalyst, helped me to almost immediately know that I had found a new church home.
I spent my working years serving in various administrative assistant positions from which I retired in 2016. Now that I have the time, I am volunteering my skills to assist with administrative duties, as well as serving on the Assimilation Team to make sure that everyone that visits Catalyst feels welcome and those in the Catalyst family have the opportunity to serve in a ministry area. I am also a Community Group leader.
Knowing our value in Christ is life-changing. My heartfelt desire is that everyone realize their value in Christ rather than gauge their value according to the world’s standards.

Susie Ingle
Children's Director
Hi, my name is Susie Ingle. I am 60 something years old and mom to 4 grown children.
My husband Barry and I have been married for 23 years and counting and we have been blessed with 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. I work in small doctor’s office doing a variety of tasks. In my spare time like to sew and enjoy making small quilts and learning new skills.
I first heard about Catalyst Church when I was contacted about a truck that I had listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Too long a story to share here, but just ask if you’re interested in the full story. Definitely a tribute to how God can use anything to get us where he wants us to be!
I serve as the director in the Treehouse which serves the 2nd – 5th grade students of the Catalyst Children’s Ministry. I have served in children’s ministry for 10+ years serving children of all ages, but I especially love working with this older age group and watching them grow spiritually as they move from children into the preteen years. The Treehouse team works to plant the seeds of the gospel in the hearts of each child, so they begin to build a firm foundation in Christ before they enter the difficult teenage years.
What keeps me up at night? Not wanting any child to ‘fall through the cracks” and for every child to know that regardless of circumstances they have a Father in heaven who loves them and a community of people who care for them.
I also co-lead the Sunday afternoon community group and appreciate the time we spend as a group, learning and growing together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17
One of my favorite bible verses is Psalm 46:10 because it reminds me that in the rush of everyday life that we need to slow down and seek God and His will for us. Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10a

WORSHIP & TECH
Rachel Whitmore
Worship Director
My name is Rachel Whitmore, and I serve as the worship director at Catalyst. This is a role I have filled for the last eleven years. I’m a 40-ish homeschooling mom, who loves to read, and I also teach piano. Some of my earliest memories are of watching the pianists in the church where I grew up. I knew I wanted to do what they were doing, so my parents got me into lessons, and just a few years later, I was one of several rotating pianists in my home church. Little did I know that interest would one day lead me to directing the music department in a church. One of my favorite things is to hear the people of God pouring out their hearts in worship to Him. It is what drives me to continue to show up and lead Sunday after Sunday.
